Imogene Gould, 84, of Flagstaff, died Dec. 27, 2007, at Loyalton, under the wonderful care of Northland Hospice, and the staff of Loyalton.
She was born in Carter County, Oklahoma, Sept. 1, 1923 to Calvin and Myrtle Gifford. She met her husband, James F. (Bud) Gould in Washington DC, and they married in 1946, in Ardmore, OK. She earned her teaching degree in Art Education, at Wichita University, in Kansas. Her family moved to Flagstaff in 1965, where she earned her Masters degree, and she taught Art classes at Flagstaff Public Schools. Upon retirement, she and Bud lived in Sedona, where she stayed active with her hiking group, traveling, NAMI, the Democratic Party, and many good friends. She enjoyed painting in watercolors, and oils; drawing; ceramics; sculpting; gardening, and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband (Bud), sister (Joyce Shaw), brother (Calvin L. Gifford), and parents. She is survived by her children Randy (Dawn) Gould, Lesley Gould, a grandson, three nieces, and four nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 740 N. Turquoise Dr., Flagstaff, AZ, Saturday Jan. 12, 11:00AM.
