Iris I. Marzolf, 95, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at the Olivia White Hospice Home in Flagstaff.
Mrs. Marzolf was born March 1, 1913, to Minnie and John Leatherman in Lansing, Mich. In 1935, she graduated from Michigan State College with a degree in home economics. She was preceded in death by her husband Wendell Marzolf and threee sisters.
Her daughter, Nancy Taylor (Walter), her two sons John Marzolf (Patricia) and James Marzolf survive Iris, also eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In her hometown of Lansing, she was very active in civic activities, including the Lansing Junior League and hospital auxiliaries for emergency services. She and her husband owned a sporting goods business in Gaylord, Mich., where they were involved in many recreational and community activities. Iris carried her interest in social outreach to Flagstaff, where she was a resident and active participant in leadership at the Peaks Senior Living Facility. She was a member of the Flagstaff PEO chapter A.T.
A memorial service will be held at Episcopal Church of the Epiphany on Saturday, 23 August at 11:30 a.m. Donations be made in memory of Iris to Northland Hospice, P.O. Box 997, Flagstaff AZ 86002.
