Jacob "Jake" Anthony Slayton died on July 5th, 2008 while camping with his family in the White Mountains.

Jake was born on December 20, 1997 in Flagstaff, AZ. He was the youngest of three children.

Jake was a student at Thomas Elementary School where he had just completed the 4th grade. It was his most successful school year and he was proud to be a "Thomas Tiger".

Jake was happiest while playing baseball and had just finished playing for the 9-10 year olds Mount Elden Little All-stars.

Jake is survived by his father, Anthony Slayton, his mother Kathleen Slayton, sister Audrey Wall, and brother, David Slayton. He is also survived by a huge extended family.

There will be a Rosary for Jake on Thursday, July 10th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. His funeral service will be Friday, July 11th at 10:00 a.m. also at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

His family has created a scholarship for the Mount Elden Little League and ask that donations in lieu of flowers. Donations can be made through the Jacob Slayton Mount Elden Little League Scholarship Fund at any Wells Fargo Branch.
