James "Jim" Bustrum, 58, passed away Thursday, Feb 23, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. Jim was born in Long Beach, CA and raised in Bellflower, CA. He moved to Flagstaff in 1993 with his former wife and their two sons. Jim was in the automotive business from the age of 18 as a mechanic for 25 years and as a service writer for the last 15 years. Many of those years in Flagstaff he worked for Ascot Automotive where he met he lovely wife, Heather. They shared a rare and wonderful love during their 10 years of marriage. Jim was also a very active member of AA and enjoyed helping others with their sobriety. He was extremely well-loved and always had a smile, a silly joke and a bear hug at the ready. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria; his father, Ralph; and his infant son, Jamie. He leaves behind his sister, Beth; his brother, Bob; his beloved wife, Heather; his sons Nick, 29 and Sam, 25; his step-daughter, Sarah; his brand new grandson, Mark, 2 mos; and family and friends too numerous to list. Services will be held Sunday, March 5th at 10:00am at Norvel Owens mortuary in Flagstaff with a reception immediately following at the American Legion.
