James B. Mateosky, "Jamie" died May 10th, 2007
Jamie's battle with cancer is finally over and he has traveled on.
Our blue-eyed boy was born June 17th, 1960 to Ben and Lyla Mateosky. He was raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where he enjoyed the outdoors, summer softball leagues and the close friendships that come from
growing up in a small town. Shipping out with the Navy for the next 6 years of his life, Jamie traveled the world. Always a wanderer, he enjoyed new friends and places until finding his lifelong mate, Tricia
(neé Bruning). Tricia and Jamie married in Tucson, Arizona in April, 1992. They made a home in Dallas, Texas where Jamie worked for USA Today and raised their son, Seth Alan. A promotion and a new babygirl, Chelsea Anne marked the next phase of Jamie's life in Springfield, Virginia where he became the Vice President of Operations for ProImage and settled into the role he was most proud of in his life –loving
father and family man. His new position provided greater flexibility in establishing his home-base, so after 13 years on the Eastcoast, Jamie and Tricia moved to Flagstaff to be close to both their families.
Jamie spent his last year doing what he loved the most – fishing in his boat, watching his daughter's basketball games, hosting family and friends and forming a lasting bond of friendship and respect with his
son. He leaves behind a host of friends, his wife Tricia, son Seth (20), daughter Chelsea (15), mother Lyla, father Ben, brother Kasey, sister Laurel, many loving extended family members who will fill the hole in their hearts with warm memories of him. Gone, but never forgotten.
The memorial services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 15th at St. Pius Catholic Church. An informal summer service will be held at the Green River in Wyoming to deliver Jamie's ashes across the country he
loved so well.
Flowers and deliveries may be made to the church or please feel free to donate to the Cancer Research organization of your choice in Jamie's name.
