James (Jim) Warren passed away April 28 after a lengthy illness. Jim was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, April 25, 1939 to Kate and Roy Warren. After graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1957, Jim served 8 years in the New Mexico National Guard and was discharged as a Sargent E5. He married Karen Bateman in 1959. Jim began working in 1959 for Southern Union gas Company as a laborer. During his career he worked in Flagstaff, AZ, El Paso, TX, Prescott, AZ and retired in Flagstaff in 2000 as District manager from Citizens Utilities. Jim was active in Rotary, Elks, Goodwill, Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce, and served on many Board of Directors. Jim was preceded in death by his mother , father and two sisters, Geraldine Bain and Louise Mensdorf. He is survived by his wife Karen, son Chris (Patti) and on granddaughter, Lexi of Flagstaff, one brother Bob Warren (Judy) of Carlsbad, and number of nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held in The Veterans Section at Citizens Cemetery, Tuesday May 5, at 10.00 am.
