Obituary

Jane F. Landauer, age 98, died Wednesday July 24, 2019 in The Peaks nursing facility in Flagstaff, AZ. Jane was born January 1, 1921 to Eugene and Eliza Johnson in Schenectady, NY and was the oldest of six children, all girls. She married Francis A. Landauer on November 25, 1944 and together they reared six children; Kathleen (Robert) Single, Dennis Landauer, Susan (Robert) Knight, Gregg (Terri) Landauer, Joan (Dennis) Olson and Brian F. Landauer. Jane was also grandmother to 14 grandchildren; Jarrod (Dawn) Single, Jeff Single, Maggie (Jodi Bonk) Knight, Katie (Adam) Leff, Gregg (Meghan) Single, Chris (Kara) Landauer, Steve (Jenny) Olson, Nick (Jerri) Landauer; Andy (Amie) Olson, Patrick Knight, Ryan (Amber) Olson, Kevin Landauer, Megan Landauer, Brian M. Landauer and 13 great-grandchildren.

As one may imagine, family was the center of Jane's life. Her remarkable grace, wit, wisdom and perseverance inspired three generations. In 1965 Jane moved west from from New York to Phoenix, Arizona where she lived and worked until retiring to Munds Park in 1982. She and her husband later moved to Flagstaff in 1998. Jane loved mountain living and the Flagstaff community and was very active in her neighborhoods and her church. She enjoyed nature, gardening, music and art and was an avid fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns. Family members knew NOT to call when the Suns or Diamondbacks were playing on TV.

Our mother was preceded in death by our father, Francis and her sisters Margaret Roraback, Ann Kumpan, Eileen Donlon, Marion Flynn and Claire Montanye. A rosary service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 9:30 am followed by a 10:30 am mass celebrating her life at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, 1600 E Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 201 W University Dr, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at The Peaks nursing facility and Yvonne Grogan of Compassus Hospice for their attentiveness, compassion and loving care.
