Janice Ruth Luke (Kooienga), age 89, passed away and went into the arms of Jesus on Friday, October 9, 2026. Jan loved music! She spent her whole life singing and playing the piano and organ. She especially loved playing the old hymns by heart, remembering all the words to each one. Even when her memories of people, places and events began to fade, the music never did and it brought her such joy. Heartfelt gratitude and thanks go out to the staff of Brookdale Senior Living and Maggie Hospice. The family appreciates all the care and respect that was given to Jan during the time she lived there. Jan is survived by her husband, Tom Luke, Williams, AZ; Brother, Ronald (Darla) Kooienga, Hudsonville, MI; Sister-in-law, Doris Kooienga, Jenison, MI; Children, Lynda (Tim) Roersma, Luanne (Robert) Barnes, Mary-Jo (Mark) Westbrook, West Michigan and Robert (Sheila) Krombeen, Williams, AZ. Jan had 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In memory of Jan, the family requests you sing a favorite hymn!
