Obituary

Janice (Johnson) Ribelin, age 72, born on August 20, 1953, to Duane and Esther Johnson in Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 12, 2025. Known to all as Jan or Mom, she moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1974. She was truly one of a kind - a force of nature, living life with the relentless drive of the Energizer Bunny. With only two speeds—zero or 100—she poured her heart into everything and everyone.

Jan's incredible work ethic shone through all she did, from her beautifully tended yard, to her masterfully creating stunning flower arrangements, to her proud work alongside her husband at HDI/Ribelin Logging for four decades. She was deeply grateful for her travels to Paris and Scotland with cherished friends. Her joyous dancing, radiant smile, and infectious laughter lit up any room. Always there for anyone in need, with an uncanny way of showing up at the perfect time, her vibrant spirit and generosity left a lasting mark on countless lives. Since her passing, stories of her kindness and influence have poured in, reflecting the legacy she built.

She is deeply missed by her devoted husband, Ken, her beloved partner of 52 years—a time that didn't seem nearly long enough—and her daughters, Jackie (Adam), Laurie (Ivan), Libby (Shane), and Josie (David), along with her eight cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Becky, Nancy, Sandy, and John, and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11 AM at the Arizona Snowbowl.

Jan loved flowers and attendees are welcome to bring them. The family invites attendees to bring stories of the lessons Jan taught them and how she impacted their lives, and/or to share stories by emailing JansLegacy@outlook.com, to join in a collective tribute to her extraordinary spirit.
