Jimmie Van Long, age 75 passed away August 7, 2013 in Flagstaff, AZ. He was born in Duncan Oklahoma May 6, 1938 to Clennan and Chrysteen Covington Long. He moved to Arizona in 1945 with his parents James and Chrysteen Ball and sister Patti Ball, where he later graduated from Tolleson Union High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force serving his country for 4 years in the US, England and North Africa. He then attended Arizona State College (NAU) in Flagstaff. He was a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity and a life member of the Elks Lodge BPOE #499. He married Priscilla Buttrum Press.



Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his daughter Tina, granddaughter Ashly and great-granddaughter Thalia, sister Patti (Don) Blanchard, Nephews Danny Blanchard, Paul (Celia) Blanchard, stepson Gary Press, stepdaughter Tamara Press Harden and several grand and great-grand stepchildren.



Memorial services and military honors will be Thursday, August 15 at 10am at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. Graveside service will be 1pm at the Citizens Cemetery, Veterans Section.
