John C. Begay Sr., 68, of Pinon, AZ left to be with our Lord on October 7, 2010, in Flagstaff, AZ. He was surrounded by those he loved and those who loved him. He was born May 14th, 1942 in Bellemont, AZ to the late Rena White Begay and Chischilly Begay.

He loved watching wrestling, football and Suns Basketball, Painting, Silversmith in his earlier days, as well as reading Louis Lamoure western novels. However, singing and playing his guitar were his passion.

Mr. Begay is survived by his loving lifelong partner Helen, their six children Helena (Marvin) of Leupp; Christopher of Mesa, AZ ; Verleendia (Terry) of Gilbert, AZ; Darrell (Theresa) of Queen Creek, AZ; Candelaria (Jesus Alberto) of Leupp and Fabian (Ladelveldena) of Mesa, AZ. 14 Grandchildren: Marco, Chauntel, Quintin, Christiana, Stephen, Alicia, Starleen, Savannah, Jordan, Marissa Jean, Mikhail Roman Bruno, Luciana Elena, Dominic and Ladelaide. 4 siblings: His loving sister Sarah Smiley, Richard Begay, Della Nez and Alice Dawahoya

He is preceded in death by his two children John C. Begay Jr. and Baby Girl Begay and Brother Woody C. Begay Sr.

He will be dearly missed by his family, relatives and those who had the great pleasure of knowing him.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be Monday October 11, 2010 at 12 p.m.
at Norvel Owens Mortuary , 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ, interment will military honors will conclude services at . A reception to follow at the Leupp Chapter House.
