John Mark Denune, of Flagstaff passed away March 23, 2010. He was born May 10, 1942 in Delaware, Ohio to John Russell and Juanita Louis Denune.
John was a farmer; he farmed from 1958 to 1997 both in Ohio and California. In 1960 he earned American Farmer Degree in Ohio.
John and his wife Bari love the Native American Arts and and culture For the past 13 years John, Bari and son Mark have owned and operated Thunder Mountain Traders in downtown Flagstaff. He retired doing what he loved.
John enjoyed hiking, petroglyph and fossil hunting and could be frequently seen sweeping the sidewalks of downtown. He was active in the Flagstaff community.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 wonderful years, Bari Ann Denune, children John Michael Denune and his wife Karen Anderson of San Diego, CA. Jacqueline Marie Collier and her husband Todd Collier if Pocatello, ID, and Mark Allan Denune of Flagstaff. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren and his brother Bob Denune and his wife Judy of Ohio. John was preceded in death by both his parents.
Memorial Services will be Monday, March 29th, 6 pm at the Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial donations be sent to the American Stroke Association through the American Heart Association or the Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.
