John Morrow, "Jack", Cooper, 47, of Flagstaff passed away April 2, 2011 after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born July 3, 1963 in Pittsburgh, PA to Charles and Barbara Cooper.
Jack was a Free Mason, avid bicycler, and hiker. He loved "muscle cars" of the 60's and enjoyed cooking. Jack graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. He was blessed with a great sense humor as well as a strong thirst for outdoor adventure. That is what brought him and Joy to Flagstaff. He worked for a brief period as a Park Ranger at Slide Rock State Park. He also worked as a Service Advisor at Planet Nissan for ten years and enjoyed the people he dealt with there. Jack was a dedicated Christian and active member of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife, Joy; his son, Jake and daughter, Kelly; his mother Barbara of Oakmont, PA; maternal grandmother Virginia Peters of Penn Hills, PA; as well as his aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and his brothers C.J. and Bob.
Visitations will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ. Funeral services will take place Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1601 North San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the American Cancer Society or other cancer fighting projects.
