John Thomas "Tommie" Cauthen passed away Saturday, October 29th, 2011 at home surrounded by his wife and family. Born January 5, 1928 to Tom and Hazel Cauthen in Clifton, AZ, Tommie spent his childhood on the U Diamond ranch before his family bought the XBar1 where he attended Hackberry and Kingman Schools. Home for the past 65 years has been in Ash Fork, AZ where he met and married his beloved wife. He was self-employed operating his heavy equipment on many N. AZ ranches, building roads, tanks, hauling material and always felt fortunate to work in God's country.
Tommie was preceded in death by his folks, Tom and Hazel; brothers, Dean and Clifford (Bud); sister, Lavetta and too recently his youngest grandson, Curtis Dale.
Tommie is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce, of 63 years of Ash Fork; his three children, Karen (John Lee) Schreiner of Kingman, John T. (Terry Ann) Cauthen of Ash Fork, Beverly (Doc) Girl of Kingman. Brother, Bailey K Cauthen of Duncan, AZ. Seven grandchildren, Holli, Cliff, Kelli ,Tom, Jesse, David and Karri and lastly, 17 loved great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1 PM, Ash Fork Schools Multi Purpose Room.
