John Zulfer passed away on December 27 2023 in Flagstaff at age 77.

He was born in Chicago Il on December 17 1946

John moved to Flagstaff around 1950 and lived in Flagstaff until 1961 when the family moved to Glendale.

John graduated from Glendale High School and from Northern Arizona University. He served 6 years in the US Navy as a pilot and was stationed in Iceland for 2 years.

When he was discharged from the Navy in 1976, he moved back to Flagstaff where he worked at Sky-Hi Lanes Bowling Center from 1976 to 2000 then at Southwest Wind-Power and Northern Arizona Courier.

He enjoyed bowling, flying, reading, tinkering/working on cars and building/repairing other things.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lettie Zulfer and his son John Zulfer Jr (Johnny), sister-in-law

Betsy Bolding of Tucson and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father John A. Zulfer, step father Bill Young, mother Mildred Zulfer Young and uncle Leonard Sonka.

There will be a Celebration of Life for John on May 11th from 1 to 4PM at Black Bart's Steakhouse 2760 E Butler Ave, Flagstaff, AZ.
