Johnny Mcwayne
Layne
Mar 6, 1941 — Jan 15, 2019
Johnny McWayne Layne March 6, 1941 – January 15, 2019. Valle, Arizona
After months of chronic illness, Johnny has finally gone home. Our Johnny was always a Country Cowboy in heart and action. Rarely seen without his favorite straw cowboy hat, even during his last days. In cowboy tradition, Johnny could tell a great story. He loved Harleys and classic country music, riding his bikes and dancing. That man could really move the sawdust! Johnny was proud of his home and property in Valle, where his favorite pastime was hanging out and drinking coffee with his friends at the Bedrock Café.
Johnny was with family and friends during his last weeks and days at The Peaks skilled nursing facility in Flagstaff, AZ. Born in Coalgood, Kentucky. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bonnie Layne, his other father, Howard Welsch, beloved sisters: Emily, Linda and Kathy, and daughter, Bonnie. He is survived by his brother, Fred Welsch (Lois), his brother-in-law, Thurman Mitchell and daughters, Mary and Kimberly and all his daughters' children. Johnny had many nieces and nephews (grand too). He has also left behind his dear and loyal friends Jordan, Dean and Jerrod, as well as many more friends in Valle and scattered throughout the country. Johnny made friends of many of the patients and staff at the Peaks during his stay, which truly cared for him and he them.
We love and miss you Johnny! Always.
A memorial for Johnny will be held in early Spring for Famly and Friends. The details and date will be made available at a later time.
