Josephine Cardenas

Josephine Cardenas, 84, of Flagstaff died Wednesday, August 16th, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Josephine was born February 28, 1922 in Flagstaff where she lived until she married Mike Cardenas from Williams, AZ in 1944. They lived in Flagstaff and in Phoenix until they moved to Williams in 1949 where the raised their only daughter, Yolanda. During this time they co-owned the "West End Grocery Store". In 1965 they moved back to Flagstaff where Josephine worked at Babbitts Department store for 5 years. In later years she enjoyed working for the Early Voting Board at election time. Josephine's life was dedicated to her family. She enjoyed being a homemaker, crocheting, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her only daughter, Yolanda (Bud) Charlebois, Granddaughter Audra (Damian) Morales, Great Grandchildren, Kayla & Matthew Morales, sisters Margaret Lopez and Delores Fernandez and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years Mike Cardenas, parents Jose and Marta Osle and brother Henry Olse.

Rosary will be Friday, August 25, 2006 at 7 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel and Funeral Mass will be Saturday August 26, 2006 at 12 Noon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
