Josie Mendoza

Josie Mendoza age 80 died December 13, 2006 at the Flagstaff Medical Center. Josie was born July 31, 1926 in St. Johns, Arizona. At the age of 21 she and Eugene Mendoza were married in Holbrook, Arizona. On Christmas Eve they were to celebrate their 60 th anniversary. In 1952 Josie and Eugene relocated to Williams, Arizona, where they raised 7 children. She enjoyed spending time with her children, and family. She also enjoyed crocheting and feeding the neighborhood.

Survivors include her husband Eugene Mendoza, 7 children: Herman (Darrie) Mendoza of Williams, Eugene Mendoza Jr. of Bend, Oregon, Vina (Alex) Sandoval of Williams, Christine Sietz, of Canada, Michael Mendoza, of Williams, Mary (Calletano) of Williams, and James (Mellisa) Mendoza of Williams, 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson Herman Mendoza Jr.

Holy Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday December 19, 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williams, Arizona. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00, also at the Church. Interment will be in the Williams Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona.
