Julie Marie
Ambrose
d. Jul 22, 2026
Julie Marie Ambrose (née Malm), 70, died on July 22nd, 2026, due to Lewy Body Dementia. If you knew her, you knew the following facts: blue was her favorite color, she loved butterflies, owls, & yellow roses, she was an avid baker, her laugh & smile were infectious, and she never met a stranger. In December of 1955, Julie was born in Las Vegas, Nevada to Edward and Lydia Malm. She was the only daughter in a family full of boys. No one messed with her growing up because Eddie (Debbie), Jimmy (Laurie), Robert, Greg and Chris (Lisa) (as she would recite the list to anyone who would listen) would always protect her. In the early 80's, Julie made her way to Bullhead City/Mohave Valley, Arizona, where she raised her family. During this time, she had a 20+ year career serving cocktails at the Pioneer Gambling Hall in Laughlin, Nevada. In 2007, she returned to Las Vegas to care for her ailing mother. Following her dementia diagnosis in the summer of 2024, Julie relocated to Flagstaff, Arizona where she resided until her passing.
Julie would say that she found her happiness in her children. From her first marriage to Zan Hassin, she is survived by her daughter, Alyshia Hassin, and her sons, Aaron (Jana) Hassin, Adam (Pearl) Hassin, and from her second marriage to Joseph Ambrose, JJ (Francesca) Ambrose. However, the day she became a grandma was a joy unlike any other. She will be missed by Tristan & Caleb Hassin and Juliet, Isabella, & Gabriella Ambrose.
In death, Julie was reunited with her daddy Edward "Big Ed" Malm, her mom Lydia Malm (née Delaney), and her brothers Edward Malm, Thomas Gregory Malm, and Jeffrey Malm.
Julie was also lucky to be loved by countless other family members and friends. If you were a part of Julie's life journey, the family hopes that you remember her fondly and thank you for being a friend to her along the way. "Julie, Julie, Julie… do you love me?!"
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Julie to your local animal rescue.
