Ms. Kary Shafer of Flagstaff passed away on July 13, 2010 at Flagstaff Medical Center. She is survived by her mother, Luanne Shafer and partner Diane Drab of Denver, CO; father, Donald and Carol Shafer of Richland, WA: sister, Kati Hynes of Charlotte, NC; companion, Al Sottosanti and her beloved canine Roxie.

Kary was a personal coach on developing healthy money habits, keynote speaker and workshop leader. She had also been a volunteer for Hospice earlier in her life. Kary is a graduate of Arapahoe High School in Littleton, CO and the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. Kary was a free-spirit who enjoyed nature and the outdoors. She brought a bit of sunshine to everyone she knew.
