Kathleen Gallaher
March 6, 1923 – January 6, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathleen Gallaher at the age of 94 due to causes incident to age in Flagstaff, AZ. She will now be with her loving parents, John (Jack) Mahaffey Gallaher and Kathryn Stonebraker Gallaher, two sisters Marguerite and Janet, and two brothers Vaughn Albert and Frederick. She is survived by her younger brother and sister-in-law Jack and Priscilla Gallaher of Flagstaff, AZ, where she was living for the last three years, and many nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was born in New Washington, PA in the Gallaher home and lived during the great depression and learned the value of saving every penny and being wise with her money. The family relied on each other and learned to laugh their way through the trials of those times. She was blessed with a family that was filled with her best friends and excellent health up until near the end. She was always well coifed and refined. She always had beautiful things around her and never spoke ill of anyone. Indeed, your name was safe in her home. She had employment at a bank and therefore received the nickname, "Banker". Kathleen was also employed by the Brake trucking and delivery company for several decades. She was meticulous with her bookkeeping and was known for her beautiful penmanship. She was compassionate, patient and generous. She made every family gathering warmer and more wonderful with her presence. She was a ministering angel to many and will be dearly missed. Kathleen was anxious to be reunited with those that had passed before her and is now surrounded by many of her young friends that lost their lives in WWII.
No formal services will be held. She will be laid to rest in Inglewood Park Cemetery in California. In lieu of flowers, please take a senior citizen out to lunch.
