Kathryn Ann (Piepmeier) Stoops passed away February 2, 2024 at the age of 89.  She was born July 4,1934 to Milton and Gertrude (Vice) Piepmeier. She attended Southwestern College, Winfield, KS where she met her future husband, Daniel J. Stoops. They married in 1954 and both graduated from Washburn University, Topeka, KS in 1956.  After having earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and his Juris Doctor they moved to Flagstaff, AZ in 1958 to pursue their careers.  Throughout the many years in Flagstaff, Kathryn was an entrepreneur who owned and operated several local businesses.  She was a longstanding member of the Flagstaff Federated Church and actively involved in the community through church, business and charity organizations. Kathryn exemplified a life well-lived and leaves a legacy of deep family commitment, unwavering kindness, and unconditional love for family and friends.

Kathryn is survived by her daughters Sharon R. Stoops, Flagstaff, AZ and Janet M. Kindy (Mark) Moneta, VA; grandchildren Erica M. Clark (Blaine), Flagstaff, AZ, Brandon J. Berger (fiancée Kylee), Seattle, WA, Michele E. Ryberg (Bryan), Roanoke, VA and Jared D. Kindy (fiancée Paige), Charlotte, NC; great granddaughters Payton M., Avery E. and Taytum E. Clark, Flagstaff, AZ, Brooke M. and Abigail C. Ryberg, Roanoke, VA. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene B. Finney (Ronald), Shawnee, KS.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Daniel J. Stoops and her sister, Carol D. Piepmeier.

Her memory will be honored privately in Stafford, Kansas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Flagstaff Family Food Center, P.O. Box P, Flagstaff, AZ 86002.
