Keith A. Eaton, 66, died at home Thursday, March 18, 2010.

Mr. Eaton was born December 31, 1943 in North Thetford, Vermont, fourth of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elspeth Powell and Russell Eaton, and his brothers, Donald and Russell Eaton.

Mr. Eaton is survived by his wife, Katherine Alice, his children, Linda, Scott and Danielle (Bordeleau) Eaton, sister Emily Hood, brothers Tom, Robert, and Sam Eaton, and a multitude of family members and friends.

Mr. Eaton graduated from Thetford Academy, and received two degrees from New Hampshire Vocational-Technical College. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from Northern Arizona University.

Mr. Eaton moved to Arizona in 1963 where he worked at the Pepsi Bottling Company, moved houses, drove a Flagstaff school bus, went back to school, did handyman work and construction. He taught at Coconino High School from 1971 to 1978 (starting the home building program), owned Eaton Rentals & Investment Company from 1971 to present and E.R.I.C. Building Supply from 1979 to 2004, when he retired to enjoy his passion in life – flying his Cessna 182 as much as he could.

His many interests included traveling, relaxing at his cabin, restoring classic cars, NASCAR, woodworking, gardening, shooting black powder at Rendezvous with the Powderhorn Clan, hunting and flying with the Baja Bush Pilots, The Flying Samaritans, and the Flagstaff Slugs. He just returned from flying down the Baja with his wife and some great flying friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mr. Eaton's Name to the Sunshine Rescue Mission, located at 124 S. San Francisco St., Flagstaff, AZ.

A casual memorial service and potluck will take place Friday, March 26 at 12:00 noon at Flagstaff Pulliam Airport (Wiseman Aviation) for family, pilots and friends in the community. Special thanks to the Flagstaff Slugs, John Lauher, and Wiseman Aviation for their support and camaraderie.
