Richard Keith Schmidt (known as Keith) passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at his home in Mesa, AZ with his loving wife Carolyn by his side.

Keith was born May 22, 1942 in Turner Valley, Alberta, Canada to his parents Harold W Schmidt and Sylvia (Pierson). Keith went on a mission to London, England in 1962.

He attended the University of Alberta and studied Health (B. SC) as well as Law (LLB).

Keith built his own law firm and independent insurance company. He moved to the United States in 1985 with his family.

Keith loved many sports including Tennis, Hockey, Baseball, and Basketball and coaching Tennis.  Back in his youth he talked of loving to play football and enjoyed playing more than watching sports.

Keith is survived by his wife Carolyn (Farr) Schmidt. Keith and Carolyn had a blended family of five children including Royle (Alie) Schmidt, Ryan (Elyse) Schmidt, Justin (Mandi) Lamb, Jeff Lamb and Marsha Lamb. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by death by his parents Harold and Sylvia as well as his brother Gary.

The service will be Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:00am at the LDS church located at 2152 E Adobe Street  Mesa, Az 85213. The viewing will take place before the funeral starting at 9:00am to 9:50am.
