Lance P. Potteet, 40, formerly of Flagstaff, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at his brother's house in Fort Mohave after a short battle with a terminal illness.

Mr. Potteet was born March 5, 1969, in Harrison, Ark., to Gearlene and William H. Potteet Jr. He was a school teacher, who touched the hearts of many children. He was best known by family and friends as "Lupe" and was loved by many and will be missed by all. Mr. Potteet is survived by brothers William H. Potteet III of Shell Knob, Ark., John E. Potteet of Grove, Okla. and Shawn Potteet of Fort Mohave; sister Cheri Plaza of Fort Mohave; three cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; grandfather William H. Potteet; grandmother Pearl Potteet Pace; step-grandfather Otis Pace; uncle Harry Lee Potteet; aunt Ivy Am Brown; and a niece.

Graveside services will be Saturday, at 10 a.m., at Citizens Cemetery.
