LeaAnn Cartter Hollin
Born Thanksgiving Day (Nov 25, 1954) in Madison, WI, LeaAnn died with strength & dignity Oct 1, 2008 after an 18 year dance with cancer. She moved to Flagstaff in 1977 with her husband, Mel, and made many friends who will miss her dearly. She fought hard for life as a purposeful example to her children and grandchildren to persist in the face of a challenge and, above all, to value life and the joys it brings. LeaAnn is survived by her mother, Dona Cartter, 6 siblings, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.
LeaAnn was genuinely kind; always thought of others before herself. Everything she did was done with total commitment & passion including being the best friend a person could have. She never hesitated to tell the truth (even when you didn't want to hear it) and expected the same in return. In her work with Open Inn, she was a strong advocate for personal responsibility and positive choices. She was a gift and a treasure to everyone who knew and loved her and her spirit will always be with us.
