Lenora Elouise Walker

Lenora Elouise Walker, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend, is survived by her husband of more than 65 years, Don Walker. Their Children Rebecca and her husband Jeff, along with their 4 children and 5 grandchildren, Aaron Walker and his wife Elizabeth and 2 children, Tabitha Grady and her husband Alex with their 2 children, granddaughter Zuri Martinez and her parents, German & Marisol, and Goddaughter Tara Salse and her Husband, Ken. There are countless others that experienced a Mother's and Grandmother's love because of her nurturing heart, especially her nephew Gary Garside and his wife Leita and their children. She is also survived by 5 brothers and 1 sister. Lenora to most, Elouise to family, has been a living example of the most pure love in action to anyone she encountered. She began her journey on this earth in Oklahoma before her family moved to California. Her childhood was one of simplest means, and it instilled a strong work ethic and unshakeable faith in God from a young age. In April of 1959, she met her one true love, her best friend and partner for the wildest of adventures, Don Walker. Married when he was barely 17 and she was barely 18, they have exemplified what is meant by "The two shall become one". More than 65 years of marriage is a testament of how deeply they love each other. With God's favor, Lenora and Don were blessed with Rebecca in1965 and Aaron in 1969. True to her strong instinctually nurturing character, Lenora stood in the gap, being a mother to Tabitha Grady and too many others to count. It is impossible to have been in her presence without being affected by her love, kindness, and generosity. Her love for Don, her family, friends, and all who came into contact with her was genuine. The only one she loved more was Jesus! He has been her dearest friend, and safe harbor in all life's storms. Jesus guided her every move. If you encountered Lenora, you encountered the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus. Growth- Lenora found so many ways to make things grow! Growth in herself, her marriage, her family, and other relationships, and for a few of her early adult years in California, her abundant vegetable garden and flower beds. Lenora loved tending to her gardens. She was a perfectionist with keeping them weed free and especially gopher free! Lenora was very skilled with her pistol and could be found every morning and evening with her pistol, eliminating her arch nemesis, Dread Gopher, with tremendous success! One evening however, it seemed she had lost her touch. After several shots, she had managed to do nothing more than terrify a small rat that was in her flowerbed. From that point on, she literally took out the big guns using a shotgun, which managed to keep her family's fresh veggies safe. Not so much the gophers. Time spent with Don was a guaranteed adventure! They could make anything an adventure! They could make a hamburger and a cherry hi at a drive-in hamburger joint every bit as eventful as their crazy drives in their convertible, top down, on winding roads, or their wonderful trips across the country or abroad. They made time to gather and play a priority. If you ever played cards with her, you knew that behind that gentle heart was a fierce competitor. Just don't cheat at monopoly! Words are inadequate to fully express the depth of Lenora. Numbers cannot count the lives touched by Lenora. There is no measurement of the difference Lenora has made in this world. There is no calculation that can express the void we will all feel with her absence. But there is also no limit to the joy our memories of her will bring us. There is no limit to the love and light that she has poured into each of us. This no limit to how we can carry her light and love forward to honor Lenora, Our Mother. A wife and mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one can take.
