Leo J
Feeney
Sep 6, 1948 — Apr 24, 2025
Leo J. Feeney passed away April 24th, 2025, in Flagstaff, AZ. He was born September 6th, 1948, in New London, Connecticut.
Leo is preceded in death by his wife Emily, parents Leo J. Feeney & Marie and brother Patrick. He is survived by his daughters Megan and Sally, along with his son Carlos and grandchildren Neveah, Joe and James. He has one great granddaughter, Thalia. Sisters Barb (William), Debra (Vernon), Colleen (Wade) and brother Kevin (Lee).
Leo was the son of a Navy veteran, who traveled the country as a child, spending most of his childhood in Key West, Florida before graduating high school in Pennsylvania. Influenced by a silversmith teacher at a community college, Leo's interest in making fine jewelry was ignited. As the teacher's apprentice Leo learned and mastered the techniques that would later serve him well in a life-long career as a successful fine jeweler.
A trip to the Southwest set him on his path, both personal and professional: Leo met the love of his life Emily at Havasupai Village deep in the Grand Canyon while both were passing through. While visiting Flagstaff, he was introduced to the styles and stones of Southwestern jewelry.
His legacy will live on through his beautiful artwork and dominant presence in the world of southwest jewelry.
A celebration of life will be held in the Fall.
