Obituary

Leo Vriesekoop, 85 of Parks, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2025, at his Ranch, where he resided for 35 years doing what he enjoyed the most, sitting on his porch enjoying a cup of coffee, listening to the birds in the early morning.

Leo was born on March 4,1940, in Holland to Dim and Hermina Vriesekoop.

Leo filled his life with adventure, dedication, and a love for life's simple pleasures. On his Ranch, he drove horses and participated in local parades.

Leo served his country in the US Army from 1962 to 1964, a testament to his character and commitment. Following his time in the service, he spent many years working as a truck driver, enjoying the open road and the freedom it provided. As a truck driver on the open road is he met Sue, and in their union, he became the stepfather to Dennis and Julie. They were married for 30 years until her passing in 2010. Later in 2015, he married Gloria, and they spent 10 years together until her passing in 2025.

Leo had an enduring passion for tractors and spent countless joyful hours restoring Vintage models to their former glory. He was eager to share his hobby with his family, friends, and other enthusiasts, as he was a member of the Arizona Flywheelers.

Leo was a devoted Catholic, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and attended regular Mass at St Joseph's Catholic Church.

Leo is survived by his stepchildren, Dennis and Julie Rohman, and Julie and Jeff Larson, a very proud grandfather to Jessica, Janae, Sarah, and Jefanie, and a beloved great-grandfather to Kael, Arizona, Beckham, and Harry.

Leo's is also survived by his brother Dick Vriesekoop his niece Heide and Brian Clark and nephew Lorenz Krassnitzer. Great nieces Kinsley, Riley, and Great nephews Cody, Justin, Clayton, Brantley, and Colton.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 7, 2025, at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Williams.
