Lela "Ruth" Deibel was born March 29, 1923 and died October 20, 2005 and was married to Carlin Deibel for 54 years. Ruth moved to Flagstaff with her family in 1950. She was a homemaker for her family until they were grown at which time she began keeping books part time for the family business (Carlin's Body Shop and later Deibel Jeep). She retired from there at age 65 and enjoyed being solely a homemaker once again. She never tired of having her family around her, and would use any "excuse" to have a family get-to-gether. She was very artistic, and loved to do craft of almost any kind, including painting, needle work, sewing, etc. She loved the Lord, and served in many capacities over the years at First Southern Baptist Church. She is survived by her sister, Velma Goff, her children Carolyn Deibel, Larry Deibel, and Curtis Deibel, and 4 grandchildren – Adam, Seth, Toby, and Tabitha Deibel, and 3 great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service for Ruth on Sunday afternoon, November 6, at 2:00p.m. in the auditorium of First Southern Baptist Church. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Southern Baptist Church where the money will be split between the Olivia White Hospice House and the Baptist Student Union at NAU.
