Lillian A Murphy, lost her battle with cancer on 8/10/2025.  Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Irma Murphy, brothers, Dennis, Christopher and Andrew.  Lillian is survived by brothers Dan (Toni) of Oelwein, IA, Kevin (Crissy) of Windsor, NY, sister Irma of Vero Beach, FL, several beloved cousins, several nieces and nephews.  Lillian is also survived by her very close friends Adel Gouhin and Doug Bishop of Flagstaff AZ.
Lillian led a life full of accomplishments and achievements. She graduated from Erasmus High School in Brooklyn NY at the age of 16. She had to lie in order to obtain her first full time job with Circle Line Tours and Sightseeing located in NYC.  She started at an entry level position and worked her way up the ranks.  While working a full time job with Circle Line, she attended Brooklyn College where she earned her bachelors degree in accounting.  Not satisfied, she continued her education with Pace University of NY, obtaining her masters degree in business administration.  She continued to become a CPA (certified public accountant) licensed in several states. Lillian left Circle Line and worked a few years as an accountant for Standard Brands. She then became A  comptroller for Chemical bank in NYC. Somewhere in between, Lillian became a member of the Mensa international society.

In 1979, Lillian took a month off from work and rode her Kawasaki 400 from NYC to San Francisco as well as other tourist locations across the country.  Around that time, Lillian began flying lessons and fell in love with flying.
Lillian then took on a position as Vice President and Comptroller of First Vermont Bank in Brattleboro Vermont. Lillian also purchased a Cessna two seater and often toured the skies throughout New England, gaining different ratings as a pilot .  After a few years, Lillian decided that corporate America was not for her. She earned her real estate license in Vermont and decided that she wanted to teach. She landed up in Conway south Carolina at NAIA teaching students to become pilots.  When NAIA left SC, Lillian moved to Flagstaff AZ, where she did tours from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon, eventually getting a teaching job in Prescott AZ at Embry Riddle where she again taught students to become pilots. Lillian then decided to move to Hawaii where she heard it was like paradise. Lillian found it was a very expensive paradise but stuck it out for several years. She lived on Kailua Kona and did flight tours of the snow capped mountains of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Lillian also taught economics and accounting at the local community college.
Eventually Lillian made her way back to Prescott Valley AZ, and finally back to Flagstaff.
At the end, because Lillian believed so much in education, she donated her body to science.
