Linda Nadia Butoff Purcell, 62, of Flagstaff passed away June 13, 2008 at the Olivia White Hospice Home. She was born December 18, 1945 at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City to Louise and Victor Butoff.
For the first several years of her life she lived in pre communist China where her father worked for Standard Oil Company. Following that she was raised in Massachusetts, graduating from Boston University.
Linda has lived in Arizona for the past 30 years living in Prescott, Tucson and then settling in Flagstaff in 1982. On December 18, 1983 she married John Purcell. Together they have shared 25 happy years.
Linda worked as a primary school teacher and for over 20 years has worked for Arizona Department Economic Security division of Developmental Disabilities in the position of Support Coordinator helping disabled children and her families. Linda had a true love for children and loved her work with the disabled children and their families..
Linda loves animals, flowers, classical music and Broadway Tunes.
She is survived by her husband John Purcell of Flagstaff.
