It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing on May 10, 2007 of Linda Louise
Pettit, 61 of Williams, AZ, after a brief but courageous fight with cancer. Linda was born
on August 23,1945 to Victor and Irene Hughes in Kokomo, IN. She spent her childhood
in San Francisco, CA before moving to Williams, AZ in 1958. Linda worked beside her
husband as a carpenter, but her greatest pride, joy and accomplishment in life was her
family. She was the most caring person we've ever known and had a gorgeous smile.
When her children were younger, Linda was involved in the PTA, was a den mother for
Boy Scouts and donated countless hours to the Little League, Babe Ruth and Mickey
Mantle baseball leagues. She acted as our family's doctor and was like a mother to so
many of her children's friends. She loved having yard sales, going to auctions,
gardening, feeding 'her' birds, hunting, and fishing, and was a very talented seamstress,
artist and photographer who enjoyed creating memory scrapbooks of her family. She
strongly supported the Williams Fire Department and her favorite passion was
volunteering her time to keep the Williams Cemetery beautiful for over 40 years.

Linda is survived by her loving husband Jim Pettit; children Tim and Debbie Pettit, Anita
and Ron Stilwell, Joanna Pettit, and Jeff and Ellen Pettit; grandchildren Travis Schulte,
Nichole and Mike Kennelly, Kevin Schulte, Melissa and Mario Orozco, Christina and DJ
Mongeau, April Garrett, Kassie Pettit, Jenise Pefiit, Carisa Stilwell and Joshua Pettit;
great-grandchildren Austin Brandt, Athena Kennelly, Ashlynn Kennelly, and Kadance
Orozcoo all of Williams; siblings Sonny and Nancy Hughes of Paulden, AZ, Robert and
Jeannine Findley of Florida Vicki and Don Causey of Florida, and beloved sis' Jo
Lawlor of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her infant sister Norma Lee
Hughes, infant son John Lyndon Pettit, her parents, and her sister Phyllis Morales.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you carry on her tradition of keeping the
Williams Cemetery beautiful by cleaning the graves of your friends, family, and those in
need of care each Memorial Day.

Viewing will be held on Monday, May 14 at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at the First Southern Baptist Church, 629 W. Grant Ave, Williams, AZ at l: 00 pm. Graveside service to follow. Pastor Dave Wallace presiding. Reception immediately following at the American Legion Hut, 425 W. Grant, Williams, AZ.
