Luciano Garcia, age 80, passed away at Olivia White Hospice Home on Sunday, July 30, 2023, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's.
Some knew him as "Vic", some knew him as "Chano", some knew him as "Tata". He was deeply loved by his family as well as his community, where he always offered help to anyone in need.
"Chano" was born April 12, 1943, to Elma & Bonifacio Garcia in St. Johns, Arizona, where he was raised before moving to Flagstaff and meeting the love of his life, Jean Esquibel Garcia from Las Vegas, New Mexico, they settled down and made Flagstaff their home.
They married August 18, 1962, and went on to have four children.
"Vic" spent much of his career in retail management. Starting out at Chapman's Market, then moved on to work at Babbitts Thriftway, Big State Plaza, AJ Bayless before opening the original Walmart store in Flagstaff and Gallup New Mexico. He ultimately had his own Frito Lay Distribution business where he delivered chips in Flagstaff and surrounding Northern Arizona from which he retired many years ago. He was a hardworking man.
He lived a full and happy life and prided himself in making sure that his family was always taken care of. He loved taking his entire family on the best, most enjoyable, and memorable vacations.
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Jean; parents, Elma & Bonifacio Garcia, sister Dolores (Doris) Sedillo, and beloved Son Stevie.
He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Garcia. Three children, Patricia Garcia, Carmen Pryer (George) and Anthony Garcia. Seven grandchildren, Christopher Garcia (Kelsey), Shawn Johnson (Jamie), Ryan Macias, Randon Macias (Alex Benavidez), Tiffane Corral (Anthony), Dylan Wistrand, Isabella Wistrand and Bernard Richie (Michelle). Seven great grandchildren, Andre Luciano, Sheala, Ellie Jean, Emilian, Tyus Chano, Layla, Aria, as well as many bonus grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, in-law's and God daughters, Elizabeth Sanchez & Melissa Ortiz.
He is also survived by four grand dogs, Daisy, Chi-Chi-Boom, Tempo, Rusty and two grand cats, Tigger and 2Chainz.
He loves us all and remains in our hearts forever!
Services will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel: 914 E Rte.66, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
