Obituary

Lucy Navarro Fajardo was born July 6, 1926 in Flagstaff to Ramon and Isabel Navarro.  She passed away September 3, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Lucy lived her entire life in Flagstaff and after attended Flagstaff Public Schools, she worked at Sprouse Ritz and Fine's Clothing Store.  Lucy married the love of her life Joe Fajardo on June 12, 1948 and had eight daughters.  While raising her daughters, she opened her home to care for children of numerous family and friends and later her grandchildren. Lucy was a member of Guadalupe Chapel, St. Pius and San Franscisco de Asis Parish.  She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family as well as hosting large family gatherings.  In recent years she enjoyed watching and cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks and also enjoyed crafts and coloring. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband Joe of 60 years, her youngest daughter Josephine, her great grandson Andrew Garcia and son-in-law Charlie Newell. She is survived by her daughters Margaret Newell, Vickie Garcia (Geof), Dolores Jacquez (Tony), Yolanda Sanchez (Peter), Lucy Martin (Terry), Toni Harkey (Kenny) Rosalie Bachstein (Brian).  Lucy is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren and her beloved dog Sugar, her brother Ray Navarro and many other extended family members. A rosary and viewing will be held at Guadalupe Chapel on September 9th at 7:00 p.m.  The funeral mass will be celebrated on September 10th at San Francisco de Asis at 10:30am with graveside services at Calvary Catholic Cemetery immediately following.
