Marie Therese Fronske, affectionately known as Therese to family and friends, was born on August 1st, 1921 in Flagstaff, Arizona to Maud and Augustine Jakle. She was the youngest of eight children, she was raised in the Jakle home at 603 N. San Francisco St.. She attended St. Anthony's Elementary School and graduated from Flagstaff High School where she was active in drama and was a member of the National Honor Society.


In 1940, she married Robert Martin Fronske, son of Dr. Martin G. Fronske. In 1945, while her husband was in the Navy, she took over Fronske Studio until his return, and continued to assist in many aspects of the Studio over the years. She lovingly raised nine children. She welcomed Dr. Fronske into her home on the death of his wife in 1955 and included him in the family for 30 years until his death.


She was active at both Nativity Parish and San Francisco de Asis Parish. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, was active in both jail and hospital ministry over the years, and was a founding member of the Secular Franciscans in Flagstaff.


She was an active member of P.E.O. for over 50 years. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing golf with her children and grandchildren. She followed NAU sports with great interest. After raising her children she continued her creativity through journaling and art.


Throughout her life the most important things to her were her faith, her family and her friends. She was a loving mother and a doting grandmother and great grandmother. She spent her days finding the joy in each moment. She will be a greatly missed member of this community.


She was proceeded in death by her husband Robert, her parents and siblings. She is survived by her children; Fr. Ed Fronske OFM, Robert Fronske (Jeanne), John Fronske (Viki), David Fronske, Hilda Fronske, Mary Fronske Shafer, Beth Folkers, Annette Fronske, Michael Fronske (Wendy), 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.


A Rosary will be held on Thursday April 20th at 7 pm at Nativity Chapel at 16 W. Cherry Flagstaff AZ, . The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 21 at 10 am at San Francisco de Asis Church at 1600 E. Route 66, Flagstaff AZ.
