Marie L. Williams, 84, long-time resident of Flagstaff, passed away at her home on September 15, 2009. Miss Williams was born to USN Captain and Ruth Williams on July 7, 1925. She was an administrative secretary with the Los Angeles Unified School District in California before relocating to Flagstaff with her family in the early 1960's. She then worked for many years for her friend Mary Mastin, owner of The Wigwam Curios, in downtown Flagstaff. Marie will be remembered for her love of children, Native Peoples and animals, her unassuming and sweet disposition, her wonderful sense of humor, and the treasure trove of the stories of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Peggy.
A brief graveside service will be held at Flagstaff Citizens' Cemetery on Monday, October 5, 2009, at 11:00am.
