Marty Craig passed away on December 6 at his cabin in Munds Park. Marty had lived in Flagstaff and the Phoenix area during his career as a civil engineer and was loved by many for his outgoing personality and exuberance.
Marty was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 15, 1956. His youth was spent playing sports and enjoying fishing and hunting. Whether walking fence lines hunting pheasant or sitting in a boat on a Canadian lake, Marty was in his element when he was outside being active. Marty graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1974 and accepted a track scholarship to Northern Arizona University. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering and began work with the City of Flagstaff. His career thereafter included jobs with Salt River Project, CDM, and the City of Scottsdale. His expertise became waste water management and he was recognized as one of the best in the Southwest in that field.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Wilma, and his brother, Gale. He is survived by his daughters Leah Stenson (Adrian) and Tara Craig (Sam Rainey), six grandchildren, and his brother Steve. A memorial service will be held on January 7, 2:00 p.m. at the Christ's Church of the Valley in Glendale, Arizona. God bless you Marty; we will all be together again someday.
