Obituary

Marvin James Parsons, aka "Jimmy", was born on February 19, 1950 and passed away after a long battle of Renal Cell Carcinoma, on April 13, 2017. He was raised in Flagstaff and went to East Flagstaff Grade school, Junior High School, and went on to graduate in the class of 1968, at Flagstaff High School. He had some college at NAU before joining the Navy in June 1969. He went to school and became a Medical Corpsman stationed in San Diego for a few years. Jim came home to Flagstaff, after his Navy experience to court and marry the love of his life, Gail. His life forever changed in November, 1973 when their childhood love was sealed by vows. Jim lived life in accordance with his favorite past time, fly fishing. He lived life like throwing out the fly line – he put himself out there and waited to see what happened. He knew that the fish didn't come easy - he had to work for them and he did! He knew that if you threw out the line and didn't catch the fish the first time - to try again. But most importantly, he knew that life is about taking the beauty of the moment and letting go all the rest - Catch and Release. He spoke his truth, always. Jim accepted Jesus as his personal Savior on February 28. 2017.

Jim is survived by his wife Gail, daughters Jamie and Karra (Jason Hale), grand kids, Jadon, Liahna, Aliya, and many other family members.
