With deep sadness, we share that Mary Coday Edwards passed peacefully at home in Flagstaff, AZ on March 28, 2026.

Mary was an intelligent and thoughtful woman who cared deeply about justice and the world around her. Her love of adventure led our family to live and travel around the world. She worked as an engineering consultant in Pakistan and Afghanistan and later as a newspaper editor in Jakarta and Mexico City.

After returning to the United States, Mary completed coursework to become ordained as a  non-sectarian minister. She wrote an award-winning book and maintained a blog about her travels and the issues she cared about, always willing to challenge the status quo.

Through it all, she was a devoted mother who made sure her children were safe and cared for, no matter where we lived or traveled. In later years, her grandchildren became the center of her heart.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
