Mary Kathleen Rivera Romero passed away January 25, 2026 in Flagstaff AZ. Kathy was born November 9, 1942, in Denver Colorado to Sigifredo and Eileen Rivera. She was raised with her three sisters Sharon, Margie and Jenny by her aunt Alice Rivera and grandpa Emilio Rivera in the southern Colorado town of Capulin where she attended Capulin School.

Kathy married her beloved husband, Ruben Romero on June 16, 1963, in Nambe, New Mexico. They moved to Arizona several years later where they shared a full and exciting life together, made many wonderful friends and made their home.

Kathy loved to crochet and embroider and enjoyed a variety of crafts and projects. She was always busy doing something creative and she loved to teach anybody who was interested in learning. Kathy spent the last 34 years attending LOU Corporation where she was a valued, loved and cherished member of their group. She always had a kind word and her laugh was infectious. She is survived by her sisters Sharon Valdez and Jenny Marquez. She was preceded in death by her sister Margie Khelik and her husband Ruben, who passed away recently on December 18, 2025.
