Matthew walked through this life with a smile on his face and an optimistic song in his heart. He had a big heart and would do almost anything to help someone in need.
Matthew was born on November 30 th , 1978 at Flagstaff Medical Center. Growing up he attended Kinsey Elementary School, Flagstaff Jr. High, and Sinagua High School. Upon completion of high school Matthew moved to Phoenix, Arizona and attended DeVry University.
He later lived a short time in Colorado and California but returned to Arizona via Phoenix and then back to Flagstaff.
He was the owner/operator of two businesses – MF Motorsports and Sound Creations. He prided himself on his work ethic and quality of workmanship.
He lived and loved life to the fullest and showed that to his family and friends every day.
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents Carl and OraMae Florman, Hayden and Joyce Ladra, and uncle Dan Ladra.
He is survived by his mother and father, Brenda and Thomas (Tom), sister Katherine (Kate), nephew Aidan Jaquez, aunts Janet Ladra and Teri Palella, uncle Stephen and aunt Charlene Florman, and great aunt Doris Jean Robb – as well as many cousins.
Matthew is also survived by his life companion Cheyenne Canty. Friends since high school, they reconnected again six years ago and together grew as individuals and as a couple. Matthew and Cheyenne were good for each other and learned new lessons about life and love; they helped each other to be their best selves. Their love and lessons will live on.
Matthew was quick to laugh and to share a joke; he was a man who made a difference for so many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Mass is Thursday, October 21 st at 10:30 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church, 1600 E. Route 66, Flagstaff, AZ. Celebration of Life to follow at Thornager's on Kiltie Lane 2640 W. Kiltie Lane, Flagstaff, AZ
