Obituary

MELVIN CHARLES HALLIDAY of Flagstaff, Arizona, more commonly know as Red, passed away October 29, 2010 at the age of 89. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa February 17, 1921. He is survived by his son Robert, six granchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary and his daughter Dawn Kolpin. Red served in the United States Army for six years with the "Bushmaster" during WWII. He will be remembered as a generous man, never without a smile on his face and a willingness to help anyone. Red spent the majority of his adult life doing what he loved, operating heavy equipment and being a reserve officer with the Flagstaff Police Department and the Coconino County Sheriffs Office. Memorial Services will be in Flagstaff - November 19, 2010, 11:00A at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in Melvin's name to Hospice of the Valley.
