Melvin Scott "Sleepy Sam" passed away peacefully on September 24, 2007 at his home in Flagstaff. Melvin was born November 17, 1933 in Atlanta Georgia to Rev. James M. and Emma Bolton. Melvin moved to Flagstaff in 1954. Melvin enjoyed cooking, dancing, sports, music, traveling and spending time with family. In 1969 he married his love Mary.

Melvin is preceded in death by his son Samuel M. Bolton Jr., brother James W. Bolton Jr., and sister Emma L. Gray.

Melvin is survived by his Wife Mary L. Scott, and children Sandra Bolton of Atlanta, GA, Gregory Bolton of Atlanta, GA, Shontel O. Scott of Richmond VA, Denise Smith of Los Angles, CA, Ternice Turner of Phoenix, AZ, Burnell Turner Jr. of El Mirage, AZ , Gregory D. Turner of Glendale, AZ, brother Marvin H. Bolton of Oak Ridge, TN and sister Evelyn J. Todd of Chicago, IL.

A Public visitation will be held Wednesday October 3rd at the Norvel Owens Mortuary from 5:00 am to 7:00 am. A funeral services will be Thursday 10:00 a.m. at Riverside church of God in Christ with Pastor Raymond Felons officiating.
