Mercedes Shoup passed away on July 12, 2011. Mercedes was born on November 24, 1915 in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico. She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Jahnke and Melita Shoup, five granddaughters Amy Jahnke, Lisa Jahnke, Amanda Shoup, Bethany Shoup and Grace Shoup and five great grandchildren, Keyona, Seearria, Demonte, Andray, Jr. and Liliana. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wayne.

Mercedes was tireless in her devotion to the care of her home and family. She loved entertaining and was the life of every party. Cooking was both a passion and a nurturing talent for her. Her children and grandchildren were always on her mind. No baby was born to the family that did not receive one of her hand crocheted afghans and she never missed a birthday or anniversary.



Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 am, on Friday July 29, 2011 at St Pius X Catholic Church.
