On Friday, December 18 th , Michael Deane Bradley, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 68 at his home in Flagstaff AZ. Mike was born on July 26 th 1952 in San Jose, California, to Ken and Bernice Bradley. Mike grew up in Oakland, CA, where he received his Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from University of California San Francisco. He served his country as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Coast Guard, where he received multiple letters of commendation. Semper Paratus! Mike served his community as a Firefighter for 42 years. He was the Fire Chief of Hayward Fire Department, Flagstaff Fire Department, and Highlands Fire District. Mike helped develop the Incident Command System which is used to run large scale fires and natural disasters nationwide. He sat on multiple committees of the National Fire Protection Agency and was an Incident Commander on a National Incident Management Team. Mike served his fellow citizens as an ordained Ruling Elder at the Church of the Resurrection in Flagstaff, Arizona. Mike was a devout believer in the Word of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mike had several passions in life. He was a musician, he played bass guitar in local bands, as well as at church. He loved the outdoors, specifically hunting with his two sons. He loved mountain biking, hiking, working out at the gym and traveling to Germany. Mike was preceded in death by his father Ken and his Mother Bernice. He is survived by his wife Brigitte, and his two sons Grant (Monica), Drew (Mahea) and his beloved grandson, Wyatt. Mike was a pillar of the community. The extensive contributions that he made will live on for generations to come. He touched the lives of so many in the communities he lived in. He was loved and respected by all, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Fair Winds, and Following Seas, Chief Bradley. We have the watch. A public viewing was held at Norvel Owens Mortuary (914 E Rte 66, Flagstaff AZ 86001) on Tuesday January 5 th , 2021, from 4 to 6 PM. His Funeral Service took place on Wednesday, January 6 th , 2021, 10 AM at Christ's Church of Flagstaff (3475 Soliere Ave, Flagstaff AZ 86004), followed by his burial service in the veterans section of the Citizens Cemetery of Flagstaff, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Church of the Resurrection, 740 W University Heights Dr. South, Flagstaff AZ 86005, where Mike was a Ruling Elder, or Firefighters Care, 2520 N. 4 th Street, Flagstaff AZ 86004.
