Obituary

Minae Waddell Wilkins passed away June 8 in her Flagstaff home, surrounded by loving family.

Minae was born July 21, 1964, in Driggs, Idaho, to David Lynn and Janet Stevens Waddell. She married Wayne Wilkins August 29, 1987, in the LDS Salt Lake temple.  They raised their 4 children in Lansing, Kansas, before moving to Flagstaff in 2001. Minae began teaching music at Northland Preparatory Academy in 2005. Her passion for music was contagious and inspiring. She enjoyed serving others and was active in her faith.

Minae's life experiences included working on the family dairy farm in Utah; traveling the country singing in a college choir; raising and caring for her children and grandchildren in Missouri, Kansas, Arizona and Idaho; and taking her students to perform in places such as Carnegie Hall and Pearl Harbor.  She loved the outdoors and enjoyed the many hikes she and her husband took with family and friends in places like the Ozark Mountains, Grand Tetons, and the canyons of Southern Utah.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lynn, and brother, Lance.  She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughters Brooke (Michael) Mortensen, Lindsey (Jared) Stokes, and Janalie (Tim) Young; son Orson Wilkins; seven grandchildren; her mother Janet; sisters LaNan Donovan, Melanie Clark, Autum Hunt, VerRona Grandil and Mindy Canova.
