Mitchell P. Garcia

Mitchell Garcia, 81, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Dobson Home Hospice in Chandler, Arizona.

Mitch was a lifelong resident of Flagstaff, Arizona attending the Beaver Street School and graduating from Flagstaff High. He was honorably discharged after service in the Navy. He followed family to work in the sawmill until starting a career in Coconino County where he retired as a supervisor after 35 years and was remembered for being a hard worker, a fair supervisor, a strong leader.

He is survived by daughters Yolanda and Anna, son David and Mitch's sister, Lupe Espino along with his grandchildren Christine and Mercedez and great-grandchildren Albert, Ruth and Isaac. Mitch was blessed with many siblings, extended family members and friends who remember his love of, trying his luck at the Casino, laughter, music, sports and food.

Viewing is on Tuesday August 8 from 6 to 8 pm at Norvel Owens Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe and Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Flagstaff on Wednesday, August 9, 2016 with a Rosary 10 am, Mass at 11 am and burial to follow services.
