Nelda Farr Reich, 92 of Mesa, AZ passed away January 5, 2026. She was born and raised in St. Johns, AZ. She was the oldest daughter to Newton and Louise Neal. She married Augustas Outzen Farr and together they raised five children. They lived in St. Johns, Mesa, and Holbrook, and Cortez, Colorado and ran a trading post together in Rough Rock, Arizona until Gus passed away in 1983.

Nelda lived her life for her family; they were her most treasured gift. She blessed them with her exceptional homemaking skills that have been carried on through generations. She filled her home with love, service and faith. Her service spilled out into her community and across the country as she served a full-time mission as an adult in Boston, Massachusetts for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

After her mission she met and married Frank Reich. They shared life together, living part time in Arizona and Montana. They built a home together in Wickenburg and then moved to Mesa to be closer to family. Frank preceded her in death in 2018.

Nelda is survived by her children Carolyn Schmidt, Clarice (Norvel) Owens, Gary (Stacey) Farr, Charla (Bob) Cody and Neal (Stephanie) Farr; siblings Tommy (Kathryn) Neal, Dorothy Cole, Juanita (Elwood) Richey and Alice Cowley, Sister-in-law Christine Neal; 17 Grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Nelda is also survived by her stepchildren Richard (Carol) Reich, David (Sandy) Reich, Debra Reich (Cameron Brown).  She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, grandchildren Keith Norvel Owens and Kyle James Cody; son-in-law Keith Schmidt; brother David Neal and brothers-in-law, Bob Cole & Duke Cowley.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, January 15th, 1:00 p.m. at the St. Johns Cemetery, St Johns, AZ. A memorial to celebrate her life will be 10:00 am Monday, January 19th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Glencove Ward, 925 N. Harris, Mesa, Arizona.
