Mortensbak, Nordis Kathryn, age 76, passed away peacefully Dec 5, 2010 in Flagstaff, AZ with her beloved family by her side.

Nordis was born Aug 20, 1934 to Harold Hansen & Dagmar Satree in Boone Co., NE being the youngest of 8 children.

She loved and treasured her family with children: Susan Sgrignoli (Mandy,Christine), Pam Anderson (Corey, Matt), Jodi Petersen (Aliah), Don & Roberta Mortensbak (Sarah, Dustin), David Mortensbak (David Ray), Jack Mortensbak and 10 great-grandchildren: Christian, Cain, Alexandra, Cammy, Annalise, Quinn, Tre', Kade, Trinity and Shams.

Nordis raised her family in Piedmont, SD while working in Admissions at the Fort Meade VA Hospital for 25+ years. She then retired and moved to Wickenburg, AZ where she worked part-time at the Hassayampa Elementary school cafeteria. She so enjoyed seeing the children's smiling faces each day. Due to unexpected health issues, she moved to Ponderosa Pines Care & Rehab in Flagstaff, AZ in 2007.

She loved visiting her family, enjoyed reading and believed in and collected her "angels".
She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Julie Marie, daughter, Jodi Lynn, great-granddaughter, Tessa Kathryn, her parents and 4 siblings.

Her wishes were to be laid to rest with her daughter, Jodi Lynn, at the Piedmont Cemetery in Piedmont, SD. A memorial service will be announced in the late spring or early summer of 2011.
